August 29, 1922 - March 14, 2020
John was born on August 29th, 1922 on the family homestead farm in the Hilltop District, Erickson, Manitoba to Hjalmar and Elin (Ullberg) Korberg and remained very proud of his Swedish heritage throughout his life.
On John's return from serving overseas in World War II, he took over the farm and on March 18th, 1954 married Eidlyn Ehlin. They continued farming there until 1965 when they moved their young family to Armstrong, B.C. On his retirement from Falkland and Armstrong sawmills in 1986 they moved to Vernon.
John is survived by his wife Eidlyn "Lyn"; son Kerry (grandson Bret and great-grandson Satori, and grandson Jaeden), son Kevin (Kristen), (grandson Jesse and great-granddaughters, Keaira and Mia, granddaughter Alissa (Dan) and great-grandchildren Jaida and Cooper, grandsons Conner and Conall and granddaughter Kingsley) and daughter, Karyn (Jack) Pifiefer. He is also survived and missed by daughters-in-law Marina and Sheryn and sisters-in-law Eileen and Eireene as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry; sisters, Mildred, Hillma and Alice; and granddaughter, Kelsey Korberg.
John passed away peacefully in the North Okanagan Hospice on March 14th, 2020. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
