John (Jack) Fifer


John (Jack) Steven Fifer passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 12th, 2006 at the age of 90 years. Jack is survived by his loving wife Edith of 64 years, two sons, Barry (Pixie) of Vernon, Richard (Margo) of Kamloops, one daughter, Linda (Scott) Primrose of Vancouver, BC, grandchildren, Lindsy Fifer, Dallas Gilchrist, Virginia and John Primrose and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Radisson, Saskatchewan, Jack grew up in Vancouver where he began a successful fishing rod manufacturing business. In 1953, he moved his young family to Vernon where he and two partners opened an automotive electric shop. Subsequently he was employed by the Department of Highways as the electrical and caburetion specialist until his retirement in 1980. He was an avid fisherman, boater and outdoors enthusiast. Jack will be sadly missed by family and friends. A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held on Friday, July 21st, 2006 at 2pm from the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. Cremation. A reception will follow in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room. Those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Jack may do so to the charity of your choice.
