John Jeff Swift passed away June 9th, 2006 in Whiterock BC at the age of 81 years. Jeff was the son of pioneer Reuben Swift who came to Vernon in 1889 with his wife Mary joining him a short time later. Jeff spent all of his younger life in Vernon and after serving in the armed forces in World War 2, returned to Vernon and worked for BC Hydro until he retired in Westbank BC. After retirement he spent a short time in Kelowna BC and then moved to Whiterock BC where he spent the rest of his life. Jeff loved sports, but most of all golf, in which he spent a lot of his retirement time. Jeff is survived by two sons Barry and Kevin Swift of Kamloops BC, three daughters Anita Burns, Heather Christian, Maureen Reynolds, and eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jeff also has one surviving sister Marion (Art) Davison of Vernon BC. In honoring Jeff’s wishes, there will be no public service.
