JOHN A. LAMBROUGHTON, former resident of Armstrong, passed away peacefully at the age of 90, on Saturday, November 22, 2003, at Pioneer Lodge in Salmon Arm. John is survived by his daughter Jean and his son David, both of Armstrong. He was predeceased by his wife of forty-one years, Ada, in 1985. John was born in Edam, Saskatchewan, February 1, 1913, and spent most of his boyhood there on the family farm. He worked with construction firms in the Texas oil fields during the 1940’s, then later moved to the San Francisco Bay area and was employed by Johns Manville as a Pipe Instructor during the 1950’s and 1960’s. John and Ada retired to Armstrong in 1970 and later moved to Vernon. They shared a love of bridge, baseball and golden retrievers. He will be remembered as a devoted father, loyal friend and eternal optimist. He loved the Okanagan but was ever a Stubble-jumper at heart. A private family service will be held with interment in the family plot of Armstrong Spallumcheen Cemetery. Cremation and arrangements in the care of Mountain View Funeral Home, 546-8294.
