John Miller, aged 68 passed away peacefully on June 20, 2023 at the Vernon Hospice House with his loving wife by his side.
John grew up in Port Alberni where as a young man he worked along side his father in the logging industry. He married Beverley Miller in 1976 in Victoria, and he was a proud father of three children John Miller Jr, Mandy (Andrew) Harris, Amber Miller. Grandchildren Wren, Rebecca, Natalie, Bryden, Kaleb, Kiera. John graduated from Alberni High School in 1974, and later completed his CPA accounting designation. He worked for numerous BC forest companies as a controller or manager. He finished his career working as controller for Nor-Val Rentals Ltd. In Vernon.
John was highly regarded by his peers and he was presented with various awards during his career. He was also an avid road cyclist and he participated in many long-distance races throughout BC and the US. He enjoyed attending his local church, going on long walks, strategizing and battling while gaming online and meeting up with friends to share some nachos and savour a cool pint. John felt he had a blessed life.
There will be no service. The immediate family will have a quiet celebration at a later date. Perhaps on occasion have some nachos, lift a glass and remember John.
