John Paul J.P. Cayer

February 13, 1935 - October 30, 2019
It is with broken hearts and deepest sorrow that our family, regretfully announce the passing of our beloved John "J.P." Cayer.
J.P. was a very loving, easy going, unpretentious, hard-working man with a good sense of humour. He was the kind of man who'd give "the shirt off his back" without hesitation or expectation. He simply loved people and animals and was so loved by all in return. He had many passions, but his greatest pride and joy was his family. He and wife Becky were great role models of what the commitment of love and marriage are all about. They would have celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary on Nov. 15th.
J.P. is now in Heaven re-united with daughter Christina. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Becky, daughters Theresa (Graeme), Deanna (Doug), Lisa (Wayne); grandkids Amber, Bryce, Devan, Bailey, Abby & (grandkids in his heart) Kristie, Carly, Carrie; great grandkids, Izelle, Sidney and Autumn, along with extended family, friends and acquaintances.
Two days before he passed, J.P. (a Korean War Veteran) was awarded special recognition from the Republic of Korea and Korean Veterans Association, as an "Ambassador For Peace". We couldn't be prouder or agree more.
So, loving Husband/Dad/Grandpa/Friend, as you always said, "May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You". You are sorely missed and will forever be in our hearts and prayers. May you Rest in Peace. God Bless.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held 1 pm on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at Alternatives Funeral Services (4417 29th St. Vernon, BC). A reception will follow at the Eagles Hall from 2:00-6:00 pm (5101 25 Ave. Vernon, BC). In lieu of flowers, should you wish, donations in J.P.'s memory to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of choice, would be most gratefully appreciated.
