John Reginald Quirk
It is with deep regret we announce the passing of John on Nov. 14th 2008 at the age of 86. He passed away peacefully in hospital with family members at his side.
John was born in England on April 27th 1922 and came to Canada at the age of two. He received his Education in Vernon schools and when the War broke out joined the R.C.A.F and served overseas. John worked for the Municipality of Coldstream until he became a Fruit and Vegetable Inspector with the Dept. of Agriculture until his retirement. From 1961 to 1975 John was a member of the Coldstream Fire Department. John was also a member of the Canadian Legion.
Being an avid birder and a Life Member of the North Okanagan Naturalist Club, John was always on the look-out for feathered friends at home or out in foul or fine weather with the birding group.
John was predeceased by his Dad, Reginald in 1982 and his Mom Edith in 1994. Leaving to mourn his passing is Shirley, his wife of 62 years, Son Donald (Marjorie) of Grande Prairie, Alberta; Daughter Phyllis of Enderby and Daughter Marilyn (Ed) of Vernon, and seven Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
By request there will be no funeral. Cremation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Charity of your choice.

A tea of remembrance will be held at 10202 Kalamalka Road on Nov. 29th from 2 to 5 p.m.
