Smith, John Harvey

July 27, 1928 – Nov. 8, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Harvey Smith of 84 years at home. He has left behind heavy hearts to so many that were close to him.

Harvey leaves behind his son Robert (Candra) and his two daughters Shari (Gord), Bev (Shawn), his grandsons Zachery and Ryder, his two granddaughters Bailey and Kelsie and his great-granddaughter Lillian and mother-in-law Marcia. Harvey was predeceased by his loving wife, Vivian in Feb. 2002.

Harvey lived a fulfilled life of logging, working for the city of Coldstream and in his retirement years as a farmer. Harvey was a hard working gentle soul who enjoyed his family and his farming and had a great love for his Brahma cows.

The family would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to his daughter-in-law Candra and her mother Marcia and his nurse Tamara for all their hard work and endless love and support to make our dad’s last few months as comfortable as possible. He will be deeply missed not only by his family but also by all who knew him. Join us for a celebration of life at Harvey’s farm in Lavington Sat., Nov. 17 between 1-3pm.
