John Willington Stier passed away peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Saturday, March 13, 2004. Aged sixty-one years. John will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by wife Jean of Armstrong; children David of Vernon, Darryl of Lake Louise, Debbie of Vernon, Chris (Lisa) of Toronto and Brenda of Armstrong; grandchildren Terris, Dylan, Alyssa and Shayla; mother Lottie Stier of Armstrong; brothers Bob of Vernon and Roy of Quesnel; sister-in-law Sylvia Stier of Armstrong; nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by father John “Jack” in 1995 and brother Donald in 1996. Born at High River, Alberta, John lived in various BC locations including Burton and Vernon, then lived in Calgary for several years before moving to Armstrong in 1980, where he has resided since. John was active with the Fish and Game Club, Royal Canadian Legion and Citizens on Patrol. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and was known as “Mr. Fix-it”. A remembrance tea will be held a the Armstrong Royal Canadian Legion on Thursday, March 18 2004, at 11:00 a.m. Cremation.
