1953 - 2016
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Josef Antony Ketelaars who died on Friday, June 10 in Vancouver B.C. Joe was born March 23, 1953 in Vernon B.C. and will always be remembered for his giving spirit, contagious smile, sheer determination and his love for life itself. He was dedicated to his family and shared 41 years with Lynn, the love of his life. His two daughters, their husbands and grandchildren were his pride and joy. His legacy will live on in their hearts and minds as they remember special memories that were created with the yearly fishing trips, spending time at the cabin, and family vacations that he made a priority to coordinate throughout the years. He cherished his family and the time he could spend with them. Joe’s professional career in road construction was also a big part of his life. He spent over 40 years in the industry, where he worked and lived in different communities in both Alberta and B.C. He enjoyed his career, but his real passion was his love of the people he worked with and the many friendships he made along the way.
Joe will be truly missed, but never forgotten.
Joe leaves behind his wife Lynn; two daughters, Triena (Greg) Partridge, Ashley (Wesley) Newton; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Kayla, Jaden, Ryan, Matthew, Kail, Wren and Noah; his sisters, Johanne (Bob) Haley, Betty (Rick) Gallant, Theresa (Rob) McColl, and Franny (Brian) Coleridge. Joe was predeceased by his parents Arnold and Cornelia Ketelaars and his sister Mary.
A service will be held at St. Andrews United Church in Enderby, BC on Saturday, June 25 at 1:00pm with a tea/social gathering to follow.
