January 25, 1967 - October 16, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Patrick Brownrigg. Born in Ottawa January 25th, 1967.
Leaving behind his fiancée Toni Messier, two sons Kirk and Jack, siblings Jane (Tony), Dennis (Kim), and Helen. Nephews and nieces Sara, Emily, Logan, Riley, and Bridget. Great uncle to Nolan, Emma, Maddex, Scottie, and Quaid. Predeceased by his parents Steve and Joan.
Joe was born in Ottawa January 25th, 1967 (As his father put in his birth announcement "centennial project completed"). Joe was the youngest of 4 and enjoyed his "baby" of the family status.
His childhood home was on his fathers family farm and he thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of country living. He started his career as an electrician in Ottawa. This led him out west where he lived in Edmonton, Squamish and found his home in the Okanagan.
Joe loved life and taught us all to live life to the fullest. He loved the outdoors which led him to his passions of boating, skiing, baseball, and snowmobiling. "Kokanee Joe" was well known for his sense of humour, zest for life, and outrageous antics.
As everyone knew Joe cherished his time with his sons and was proud of them for the men they have become. Joe found love late in life when he met Toni. Although they had a short time together he got to experience true love before he left us.
Joe had an infectious personality which led him to have many friends everywhere he went. He was always the life of the party but more importantly his friends always knew they could count on him.
The family would like to thank everyone for all their support during this difficult time. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
If you knew Joey, you definitely had a story or a good memory about him.
Please email kokaneejoe@hotmail.com stories to share with his boys and keep his legacy alive.
