JOSEPH WINGIE born in Pine River, Manitoba, August 9, 1934, the fourth son of seven sons to parents John and Anna Wingie, died instantly in his favorite spot on the Arizona desert near Ajo, Arizona January 14, 2006. He leaves to mourn his sudden departure, his wife of 48 years, Hilda Johanna of Vernon, daughter Shelly-Anne Wingie and partner Larry Weaver of McBride, B.C., son, Robin Joseph and daughter-in-law Susan and two very much loved granddaughters, Serria and Alyssa Wingie of McBride. Also in McBride, his mother-in-law Sophie and brother-in-law John, and his brother-in-law Percie in Vernon. He also leaves to mourn his only sister, Emily and her family in Ontario, brothers John and Nick and their wives and families in Manitoba. One brother Mitch and wife Connie in New Westminster, B.C. He was a man who could fix and build anything. He loved birds (especially his quails) and dogs. He spent his life in the construction and logging industry and loved all kinds of machinery. He also tried his hand at farming in McBride where the family lived for 30 years. He leaves there old friends. In the states he leaves behind many special American friends that he made in Why, Arizona over the last seven years where we wintered. Their help, love and understanding will never be forgotten in our time of sorrow. He was cremated in Arizona. No funeral by request.
