Joyce Eileen Mitchell was born on March 1st, 1933 in Calgary, Alberta and passed away on April 16th, 2008 in the Polson Special Unit of Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 75 years.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Stew, to whom she would have been married for 53 years on May 7th, 2008; her children, Debbie (Mike) Carroll, of Vernon, B.C., Jay (Stephanie Saville) Mitchell of Vancouver, B.C., Monty Mitchell of Calgary, Alberta and Traci (Chuck Bannister) Mitchell of Vernon, B.C.; two grandchildren, Amy Gingell of Aurora, Ontario and Cheth Mitchell of Calgary, Alberta; her brother, Clarence William Bissett and her sister, Doris (Henry) Flaming, of Salmon Arm, B.C. and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew George & Eva Mary (Northcott) Bissett and one brother, Leslie Bissett.
Joyce was a dedicated RN for most of her life, always seeking ways to take care of her patients to the very best of her ability. Her greatest joy in life however, came from being a devoted, loving wife and a true caregiver to her family.
Cremation preceded a Celebration Of Joyce’s Life which will be held at Trinity United Church on Thursday, April 24th, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. with Mrs. Sheila Odney officiating.
