April 14, 1937 – November 2, 2022
Joye was born on April 14th, 1937 in Vernon, B.C. and passed away on the eve of November 2nd, 2022 at the age of 85 years. She left this world peacefully and was reunited in Heaven with her son Jim; her parents, John and Grace Sengotta and her brother Gerry.
Joye will be lovingly remembered by her husband Howard, to whom she was married for 66 years; her children, Avie (Daryle), Brian (Grace), Rick (Heather) and David (Heather); her daughter-in-law, Brenda; one step-daughter, Jeanette (Doug); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Bill (Antonia) and Ray; a sister-in-law, Dorothy and numerous extended family members.
Joye was such a kind and compassionate woman. She loved to read, sew, spend hours doing puzzles, enjoy time at Shuswap Lake as well as travel in the motor-home with Howard and her family.
Cremation preceded a Celebration of Joye’s Life which will be held at the Schubert Center on Saturday, November 19th, 2022 at 2:00 P.M.
It is only fitting that we close this obituary with a favorite prayer that Joye often recited:
“Now I lay me down to sleep
I ask the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake
You’ll know I died of a belly ache!”
