February 18, 1950 - October 4, 2020
Judy passed away at Vernon Hospice on Sunday, October 4, 2020 in her husband's arms after a long battle with cancer.
Judy was born on February 18, 1950 in Vermilion, Alberta. She then worked as a nurse in Edmonton where she met the future love of her life, Rod. After a short long distance romance, she moved to Vernon in 1970 where she married Rod and had their son, Jason.
She worked a short time in a grocery store prior to working for the Guidi family at Butcher Boys where she worked for 44 years until her illness took over. Judy always considered the Guidi family to be part of hers also.
Judy was very involved in helping others and raising money for causes. Through Butcher Boys auctions, she raised a great deal of money for Vernon Hospice. She was also a founding member of Santa's Anonymous and remained heavily involved in all the toy runs until the end.
In her spare time, Judy could be found at the casino relaxing or hanging out with her girlfriends. She lived life to the fullest and will now be in the big casino in the sky.
Judy was survived by her husband Rod of 49+ years, her son Jason (Sherrie), her mother Mary, her brothers John (Maureen) and Jim (Marilyn), plus multiple nephews, nieces and relatives.
Judy was predeceased by her father Larry and her sister Sue.
A memorial service was held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Santa's Anonymous in memory of Judy.
