June Muir Colley
September 10, 1921 – September 20, 2014
June Muir Colley, a longtime resident of Vernon, BC has passed away on Sept 20, 2014 at Polson Residential Care. She is survived by her son, Terry Muir (Emma) and Step-son Brent Colley (Dianne) of Vernon, BC.
June worked as a Medical Records Stenographer at Vernon Jubilee Hospital and then worked for Dr. Allan Rooke, Dr. Dick Storey, and Dr. John Graham. She enjoyed the staff and stayed on until the age of 67.
After her retirement she enjoyed golfing, gardening and travelling. She had a small group of friends (Anne, Betty, Heidi and Vera) and went on many trips with them. She also enjoyed working in her garden and took pictures of her beautiful flowers (Begonia, Geranium, Daisies and Snow Ball Hydrangea). June loved to bake cookies and having tea with friends and family.
June and Ray spent time camping, fishing, and holidaying around BC. They also loved to spend weeks in Mazatlan, Mexico.
June and Tom with their son Terry had an adventure of a life time driving from Vernon BC ¾ of the way around the world until the car broke down in Karachi East Pakistan in 1963-64.
June enjoyed her life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We would like to thank the care she received at DJ’s Place, Polson Residential Care, Hair dresser (Susan) at Headlines, and Kathy Trainor.
