Karen Fay

1944 ~ 2014

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Karen Fay Foster on May 20, 2014 in Vernon British Columbia. Karen was born January 31, 1944 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Karen was a collector of many things and loved to cook and entertain family and friends. For more than thirty years she worked for Canada Post where she made life long friends. Most recently she joined the Ironwood social club and enjoyed the activities with her new neighbours and friends. She loved her family and especially loved her special times with her grandchildren where she was affectionately referred to as “Gramma Darlin” taking them on train rides across three provinces and excursions in and around Vernon where she even joined them on a ride on the Oyama zip line. Karen will be forever loved and missed by: daughter Shelley (Kurt) Sanderson, son Jason (Shannon Taylor) Foster and grandchildren: Marissa, Erica, Nicole, Morgan, Anthony, Wesley, Lincoln and Olivia. Further cherishing her memory are sisters: Josephine Brack, Ruth Frank, Inez Guider, brothers: Tony (Bette) Leiski, Lloyd Leiski, Norman (Edna) Leiski as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband Rick Foster in 1984, mother Rosalie, father William and sister Virginia Myers. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 26, 2014 in the chapel of Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services® (4417 29 Street, Vernon, BC).
