Cass was born November 16, 1924 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She passed away peacefully on the morning of May 31, 2018 in Vernon at the age of 93 years.
Mom had 2 sons, Don (predeceased) and is survived by Grant McRitchie, as well as 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Martin Ruby in 2002. They established and operated Don Mar Hereford Ranch in the Salmon River Valley.
Cass was a member and past president of the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Auxiliary. Due to her tireless volunteer work and devotion to the community she was named Vernon Citizen of the Year in 2007.
A private service and internment with family and friends took place on Tuesday June 19, 2018 at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
The family extends appreciation to the special friends who provided love and support to Mom over the years.
