Kathleen Elizabeth “Betty” Honeyman passed away at the Vernon Hospice House on Thursday, October 4, 2007, after a short battle with cancer. Betty was born July 2, 1931, in Grindrod where she attended school until grade eight. She worked with her parents George & Kathy Halksworth at the Grindrod General Store & Post Office. Betty also played for many years with the Swingsters in the local dance halls. Gordon Honeyman and Betty were married in 1967 and lived on the family dairy farm where she cooked for the crew and raised their family. Betty volunteered at the Enderby Museum for 19 years as well as playing the piano at Parkview Place. She enjoyed her flower garden, embroidery and reading. Betty will be missed by her children Bob (Dorothy) Honeyman, Daphne (Arthur) Cayford, Bunny (Al) Krawczyk and James (Anne) Honeyman; grandchildren Dianne, Michael, Janet, Bruce, Richard, Jennifer, Connie, Melanie, Ryan, Sasha, Jaymz, Arianna, Tia, Michaela, Brenden, Cody, Bradley and Brooklyn; nine great grandchildren; sisters Joan Bailey and Lois (Alex) Roberts; numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her husband Gordon Honeyman, parents George & Kathy Halksworth and grandson Gord Honeyman. A private family service will be held at the Grindrod Church with inurnment in family plot of Cliffside Cemetery. Reverend Trevor Holmes officiating. A Celebration of Life Tea will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2007, at the Enderby Seniors Complex. All are welcome.
