It is with profound sadness and heartache that we announce the passing of Ken Andrews, a forever loving husband, devoted Dad, Granddad and Son who loved to spend time with his family and friends both in Canada and England.
Ken grew up in Luton, England and moved to Canada with his wife Pat to become a teacher in Fort St. John.
Education was Ken’s passion, always trying to make a difference for each child under his care as a principal both in Penticton and in Vernon. Ken was a gifted historian, linguist, athlete and musician. Always learning, always looking for new challenges. An everlasting adventurous nature brought Ken to Canada in 1969 and led him to explore new places and to meet new people. He loved the mountains, oceans, deserts and historic buildings and sites. Ken was extremely loving, gentle and kind, patient in nature and strong in character – so brave, courageous and hopeful!
He will miss Jordan and Kaitlyn growing up and having his devoted wife, Pat, beside him each day. With his everlasting smile, bright eyes, gentle humour and easy ways about him, Ken will be greatly missed by all of us.
For impacting our lives with a loving positive influence and making a difference in our lives we will be forever grateful and truly honoured.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia; son Sean (Beth) of Lumby; daughter Julene Andrews of Victoria; two grandchildren, Jordan and Kaitlyn; his mother, Joyce Andrews of Luton, Bedfordshire; brothers-in-law, John (Yvette) and Paul (Glynis) and their two children Kieran and Natalie.
Prayers and Funeral Mass for Ken will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church. Prayers will be recited on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
