KENNETH CAVERLY

CAVERLY

1925 – 2011

Kenneth Arthur Caverly passed away peacefully at the North Okanagan Hospice after a brief illness. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 years, June (nee Campbell), and their children: Cathy (Stan) Tully, Connie (Jim) Fenton, Ken (Brenda) Caverly, Tom (Sandra) Caverly, and Trish (Terry) Patrick. Ken was a caring and interested Grandpa to 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He will be remembered by his sisters-in-law, Marie Popham (Coquitlam) and Peggy Olsen (Ladysmith), and many nieces and nephews.

Ken was born in Winnipeg, MB and served in the Navy in WWII, returning to apprentice at Manitoba Tel., then on to Schlumberger Oil in Oxbow, Sask. In 1964 the family settled in Coldstream with Ken joining Okanagan Tel (Telus) while also running a large orchard.

Ken retired at 60 and filled his life with sports: slo-pitch, curling, and hockey until he was over 80, and golf until 85. He was a Dad who found time to do home repairs and electrical work whenever he was needed. A passionate Canadian, he and June traveled back to the Prairies yearly, to the North, the Maritimes, Ontario and Quebec. They also vacationed for many years in Palm Springs (Thousand Palms).

The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley Road, Vernon, BC. A reception will follow the service.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to PLEASANT VALLEY DIGNITY FUNERAL HOME (250) 542-4333
