KENNETH JEFFERY DUNN went to be with his Lord on May 6, 2004, after a valiant battle with cancer. Ken was born in Vernon on April 23, 1955. He leaves to mourn his passing, his son Kenneth O. Dunn and his daughter, Skylene M. Pendleton (Ryan), his grandson Alex (AJ) Pendleton, all of Calgary; his parents, Arthur F. Dunn (Lynne) of Westbank and Norda Jean Behrick (Dave) of Vernon. His sister, Rosemary Manton (Bob) of Vernon and his brother, Michael Dunn (Marlene) of Kelowna. Niece, Jeannie Litster (Alan) of Revelstoke and Nephews, Rob Manton of Vernon, Leigh Manton (Sara) of Victoria, Michael Dunn (Jen) of Calgary and Matthew Dunn of Kelowna. Also great nieces and nephews Payton, Victoria and Alex Litster of Revelstoke and Ana and Zachary Manton of Vernon. Ken’s extended family includes step brother and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and members of the Rice and Thorlakson families.
Ken was born and raised in Vernon. After graduating from Vernon Senior Secondary he attended Simon Fraser and BCIT. He received his Management Accounting Degree., worked in several accounting departments for coast businesses. Moved back to Vernon, taught at Okanagan College’s Vernon campus, and worked for some time as an accountant. Several years ago he established an Internet book store, “Ken’s Bookrack” and sold used books to customers from all over the world. Books always were his passion.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Emmanuel Fellowship Baptist Church on May 15th, 2004 at 2:30pm. Pastor Dave Fairbrother officiating. Tea to follow in the church hall.
Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice in Ken’s name. Vernon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 542-0155.
