Kenneth (Ken) Solheim was born on April 1st, 1931 in Hythe, Alberta and was called Home to be with his Lord on August 2nd, 2008, having reached the age of 77 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marion, to whom he was married for 53 years; their children, Colleen (Bryan) Ertmoed of Vernon, B.C., Dean (Barbara) Solheim of Kelowna, B.C., Melissa (Don) MacPherson of Westbank, B.C. and Bev Elidoros of Cloverdale, B.C.; ten grandchildren, Shane, Cory, Cris, Samantha, Josh, Jeremy, Lee, Jenna, Jade and Pierce; two brothers, Lars Solheim of Hythe, Alberta and Henrick (Margaret) Solheim of Grande Prairie, Alberta; one brother-in-law, Andy Haugen of Grande Prairie, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Syver & Gunhild Solheim and one sister, Gladys Haugen.
Ken was a great lover of the outdoors and was an avid cross country skier. He loved going to church, enjoyed gospel and country music and was a man who loved to help others in whatever way he could.
Cremation preceded the Funeral Service which will be held at Living Word Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 9th, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Al Pinno officiating. Interment of Ken’s cremated remains will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Ken to the Living Word Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 6525 Okanagan Landing Road, Vernon, B.C. V1H 1M5 or to the charity of their choice.
