Kenneth Mertyn Charles Everett

September 22, 1933 – January 18, 2007

Ken Everett passed away suddenly at home in Vernon on January 18th at the age of 73. Ken was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Mertyn and Edna Everett and spent his early years there. He moved to Calgary when he was 11 and there he attended St. John’s, Sacred Heart and St. Mary’s Boys School and SAIT.

He is survived by his loving wife, Grace (Scott); daughter Brenda (Doug) Greenway and their daughters Carly and Amber; son Jeff (Connie); sister Barbara (Ron) Collard, all of Calgary; sister Marilyn Lissner of Nanaimo and sister Marion (Jim) Scott of Victoria, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved cats, Missy and Gabby.

He retired in 1990 when he and Grace moved to Vernon where he thoroughly enjoyed life. His painting became one of his favourite things to do as well as summer camping and he never missed a day for his daily trip to town for afternoon coffee.

At Ken’s request, there will be no formal funeral, but a tea in celebration of Ken’s life will be held at the Recreation Complex at Desert Cove Estates on Saturday, January 27th at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Canadian Diabetic Association or the Vernon Branch of the SPCA. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the PLEASANT VALLEY FUNERAL HOME.
