It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Roy (Ken) Kulak in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 86 years.
Ken was born in Edmonton, AB on February 9th, 1930 and came to Vernon in 1946. He worked at The Vernon News and then when they divided he worked for Vernon Interior Printers. He loved sports and played and refereed hockey, played baseball and softball and later umpired ball. He also loved going south for the winter, biking and gardening.
Ken will be missed by his loving wife Trudy, to whom he was married for 65 years; two daughters, Coralie (Larry) Brinkworth of Kamloops, B.C. and Sandra (Helmut) Sieg of Vernon, B.C.; his son-in-law, Bob Mayer of Vernon, B.C.; his daughter-in-law, Terri (Rick) Berry of Chilliwack, B.C.; ten grandchildren, Tara (Jason), Shana, Teague (Christalee), Jason, Reagan (Jackie), Travis (Daisy), Joshua, Matthew (Margarite), Ryan (Krystal) and Christopher; eleven great-grandchildren, Zachariah, Jakob, Dacy, Emelia, Mikayla, Amber, Mason, Saydi, Nayeli-Ann, Soren and Hudson; extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Minnie Kulak; three sisters, one brother, his only son, Wayne Kulak; and one daughter, Brenda Mayer.
Cremation preceded a Service which will be held in memory of Ken at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 16th, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Craig Tufts officiating. A Reception will follow in the Bethel Tea Room.
As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Ken to the St. John’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 5151 Alain Road, Vernon, B.C. V1B 3K6 or to a charity of their choice.

Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Polson Extended Care and Gateby Care Centre for their compassionate care of Ken.
