Kieran Galbraith

B.Eng and P.Eng

is with the deepest personal sorrow that the Galbraith family

announces the loss of Kieran Galbraith at the age of 32 years.

Kieran Michael Galbraith, son of George and Caroline Galbraith

(who predeceased him in 1998) and brother to Ian and Kyle,

passed away in his home on Friday night, the 12th of December, 2008 in Nelson, British Columbia.

Kieran was born and raised in Vernon BC. He attended the University of Victoria where he achieved

his B.Eng. Upon completion of his studies he followed his career to Nelson where he made his home,

as an engineer with Fortis BC.

Living in Nelson became a strong part of Kieran’s character. His love of being, and working, outdoors

shaped a large part of his personality. He always felt at peace in the wilderness and was ever eager to

embark on an adventure with friends in the vast expanse that is the West Coast.

Whether working on a Hydro Electric dam in the Kootenays, or hiking the West Coast Trail with a best

friend, Kieran always felt a strong connection to the outdoors.

To respect his passion for the environment, the Galbraith family and close personal friends have

elected to establish a not for profi t organization for the purpose of Land Conservation in the Okanagan

and West Kootenays… more specifi cally to acquire and preserve wilderness in perpetuity for public

use. This will be a living legacy dedicated to the memory of Kieran. In lieu of fl owers, mourners are

encouraged to remember Kieran and his ideals through contributions to Tom Fellhauer LLP, at 701-

1665 Ellis Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y2B3

The funeral service will be held at 4pm December 20, 2008 at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with Mr.

Brian Jackson offi ciating.

Kieran’s sharp intellect, and natural capacity to challenge the very nature of things, was only surpassed

by his profound love of his mother, father, brothers and friends. He would do anything for his family,

and he will be very dearly missed.

Arrangements are in the care of Vernon Funeral Home 250-542-0155.
