January 19, 1961 - August 31, 2020
It is with the heaviest of hearts we share that Laura, a loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away at her home on August 31st, 2020 at the age of 59 years.
Left to cherish Laura's memory is her husband David; her children, Riley, Fraser, Calvin (Andrea Boras), Oliver (Cera Bollo) and Miranda (David Strahl); one grandson, Oscar; her parents, Harry and Darleen Dixon; one brother, Richard (Shelleyanne Dixon) and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Marshall.
Laura was born on January 19th, 1961 in Red Deer, Alberta to Harry and Darleen Dixon. She graduated from High School in Canmore, Alberta and then worked as a Mortgage and Loans officer with Canada Trust until she became a Mom.
Laura had a passion for sewing and baking, spent many hours volunteering and enjoyed welcoming people into their home.
Laura and David were just entering their retirement years and enjoyed travelling, boating, rock climbing, going to the gold claim, and spending time with their family. Even while fighting cancer she would make time to go skiing at Silver Star. She was happy whether in her gum boots or high heels. Laura considered herself an "old soul" as she appreciated all things Victorian and chivalry.
In respecting Laura's wishes, she was cremated. In keeping with the COVID-19 restrictions pertaining to public gatherings, a Service celebrating her life was held at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Friday, September 11th, 2020 at 11 am, but by invitation only. Laura's cremated remains will be taken home to Canmore, Alberta at a later date.

Cremation arrangements were made with BETHEL FUNERAL CHAPEL LTD.,
