We are very saddened to announce the passing of Lawrence "Larry" Douglas Calder on March 4, 2018, at the age of 71 in Abbotsford, BC after a short battle with cancer.

Larry was born to Del and Della Calder on August 2, 1946, in East Vancouver.

Larry married Lynne Gaudin also of Vancouver in 1973 at which time they moved to Prince George then to Kamloops and finally settling in Vernon to raise their son David.

On his 70th birthday he completed the Grouse Grind quite an accomplishment that he was very proud of.

Larry was a machinist by trade; he taught shop in Prince George, worked in Kamloops as a machinist, and also worked for the Pacific Brewers Distributor in Vernon for 10 years. Larry retired from General Electric in 2013 after working there for almost 25 years.

Larry leaves behind his sister Linda Tournemille of Fanny Bay, BC, son David (Michelle) and grandsons David Jr. who has taken on Larry's passion for lacrosse and Christopher, all of Vernon, and Lynne also of Vernon, BC He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but never forgotton.

In respect of Larry's wishes there will be no service but some of his closest golfing companions will spread his ashes on his favourite golf course in the Lower Mainland.
