Lawrence Herbert Werk was born on August 21st, 1921 in Herbert, Saskatchewan and passed away on March 26th, 2010 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 88 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons; Gordon Werk, Randy (Jennifer) Werk and Dan Werk, his daughter; Sandra (Don) Whitcomb, eight grandchildren; Tracy (Brian) Van Dame, Christine (Dave Mulder) Werk, Serena (John) Amanie, Matthew (Scarlett) Werk, Darcy and Alison Werk, Darryl (Michelle) Whitcomb and Bryan (Christie) Whitcomb, fourteen great-grandchildren, two sisters; Annie Miller and Mary Dickenson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife; Marguerite, four brothers; Wilfred, Manuel, Alfred and Paul and his parents; Dan and Molly Werk.
Cremation preceded a Memorial Service which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. A Reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel.
Lawrence and Marguerite lived and raised their family in Prince George where they spent almost forty years before retiring and moving to Vernon in 1990. Lawrence worked in the logging industry in that area over that same span of time.
