It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorne Lloyd - a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Lorne was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. At the age of 21, he began his career with BC Tel (Telus). He successfully rose to the level of General Marketing Manager for the Lower Mainland and the Okanagan Region. He met his wife, Joyce at BC Tel and they moved to Coquitlam to raise 6 children.
Lorne was a member of the Vancouver Tennis Club and was ranked very high as a player He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, water skiing and snow skiing with his family. He also loved sports. He played and coached soccer, and faithfully followed hockey, football and tennis. Upon retiring at the age of 55, Lorne took the BC Securities course and successfully invested in the stock market for many years. Lorne and Joyce moved to Vernon in 2001 where they enjoyed snow skiing and travelling.
Lorne is predeceased by his parents Larry and Ivy; his son Michael; and his granddaughter Christine. He is survived by his wife, Joyce of 65 years; children: Deborah, Susan, Leslie (Bill), Brenda and Gregory(Lisa); grandchildren: Jason, Jennifer, Bradley, Clinton (Jocelyn), Tiffany (Charles), Curtis, Sean, Mitchell, Russell, Ashley and Ross; great grandchildren: Kendra, Kaia, Emerson, Leighton and Charlie.
Funeral Service / Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's / Dementia Society.
