Born in Rossburn, Manitoba to Frank and Gwen Steel, Lawrence was the middle child of seven. He moved off the farm to Vernon, B.C. in 1969 and married Janet Garlick in 1974. Lawrence went back to college in Kamloops and Calgary to become an electronics technician and work for Telus (A.G.T.) for 28 years. His first love was his kids and grandkids and second was of course his cars, mostly Lincolns. He leaves behind his wife Janet, son Jason (Christie), and daughters Tabitha (Brendan) and Jackie (Ken). Grandchildren are Patrick, Trystyn, Tyler (Magoo), Aurora (C400), Cassandra (Weiner-whiner), and Kaden (Magee). Brothers and sisters are Forde (Gwen), Noel (Bernice), Fran (Levi), Cathy (Ross), Leslie, Joan (Bruce). He is happy now, pain free, 21, and there has to be something to fix or rebuild where he is. There will be a memorial for Lawrence on Monday June 22 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at the Blackie Community Center. In lieu flowers, donations can be made to the High River Hospital Auxillary or the local foodbanks.
