Leokadia (Kadie) Taranowski was born on March 13th, 1923 in Poland and was called Home to be with her Lord and Saviour on November 10th, 2008, having reached the age of 85 years. She died peacefully at Vernon’s beautiful Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family.
Kadie will be greatly missed by her daughter, Trudy (Wayne) McGrath; two granddaughters (who she helped raise), Cindy (Phil) Chalut and Christy Johnson (Frank); her two young great-granddaughters, Avery and Hadyn, whom she adored; her siblings, Martha Merke, Erwin (Joyce) Frank and Trudy (Ewald) Glinsbockel and numerous nieces and nephews. Kadie also opened her heart and home to Al & Nancy Smith and their three children, Melissa, Chad and Megan. They too will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her son, Glen in 1963; her beloved husband, Julius in 1970 as well as her parents and several siblings.
Kadie was a devoted wife, a loving, nurturing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived sacrificially in order to help her family and friends. Kadie was a woman of great faith and courage.
A private family Graveside Service at Pleasant Valley Cemetery preceded the Memorial Service which will be held at Faith Baptist Church on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastors Elmer Fehr and Eric Reimer officiating.
