Leonard Leroy Speed
We regret to announce the death of Len Speed at his home in Falkland, on January 6, 2008, at the age of 64 years. Len was born in Saskatchewan, but had worked as a trackman for the C.N.R. for 31 years, living in Falkland for many of those years. He was a kind man, who dearly loved his family. He was a dedicated volunteer at the Falkland Community Church where he maintained the landscaping faithfully. Len was known far and wide for his huge collection of model tractors, which were displayed to the public in several locations over the years. Predeceased by his parents and by a brother, Alfred; Len will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sisters: Donalene (Roy) Snarud and Eileen (Jim) Waldren, and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Falkland Community Church on Saturday, January 19, at 2:00 PM, with Mr. Keith Will officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Len to the Baerg-McMurtrie Cancer Clinic at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, 2101-32 St., Vernon, V1T 5L2.
