(nee: Giesbrecht)

February 23, 1929 ~ April 27, 2013

It is with much sadness we announce the passing of Leonora Burden. She is survived by her beloved husband, Orville, to whom she was married for 66 years; her children: Earl (Ann), Karen, Marvin (Debra), Sharen (Ken), Garry (Sue); brother Ted (Lill) and sisters: Josie, Marion, Beatrice (Henry). Leonora will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Jayson (Katherine) Coreena, Natalie, Angela and great grandchildren: Isaak, Faith, Wyatt and brother-in-law, Matt. She was predeceased by her sister, Lillian. Leonora was born to to Cornielus and Ann Giesbrecht of Herbert, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Abbotsford, BC in 1937. Leonora met Orville early in 1946 and they married August 23, 1947 and moved to Langley, BC. They started a family and by the age of twenty-four had five children. Needless to say, her full time job was being a wife, mother and homemaker. After raising her family she went to work in care facilities where she loved looking after the elderly. Leonora and Orville moved from Langley to Armstrong, BC in 1981 and she continued to work in a job that she loved at Willowdale. She had many talents being an excellent cook, baker, sewer, knitter, quilter and numerous other handmade crafts. She loved her family, friends and relaxing in her vegetable and fruit gardens. Leonora was a strong supporter of BC Children’s Foundation. The family requests no flowers. “She is gone but not forgotten”. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11th, 2013 at Hullcar Hall (Hullcar and Deep Creek Crossroads, Armstrong). Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at
