In the 1940s Leota moved to Vancouver, B.C. where she worked as a bank teller. Leota’s love of music enabled her to enjoy such concerts as the Fritz Kreisler, Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Russian Ballet. Leota married Fred Brant on New Years Day, 1945 in Vancouver and they set up their home together in Calgary, Alberta where Fred worked at the time. After Fred’s retirement they moved to Vernon where they both remained until their passing. Leota was a faithful member of Living Word Lutheran Church and will be remembered as a woman who possessed a wonderful, cheerful personality and always had a warm smile for everyone.
