LESLIE of Chase, BC, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2003 at the age of 89 years. Leslie was born in Revelstoke, BC, August 9, 1914 and grew up in the Shuswap Lake area before moving on to Lumby, Nelson, Vernon, and then in Chase prior to being moved to Bastion Place, S.A. Leslie was involved in the logging and sawmill business most of his life. His passion was the outdoors. Leslie was predeceased by his loving wife on October 15, 2003, his sister, Joyce Archer, son Allan and grandson Glenn. He is survived by two sons, Arthur (Madge) Haycock of Vernon, BC and Barton (Lana) Haycock of Lethbridge, AB, three daughters, Cathy (Bob) Webb of Vernon, BC, Shirley (Ron) Britten of Vancouver, BC, and Violet (Kelvin) Johnson of Prince George, BC, seven grandchildren; Russell, Brian, Michelle, Derek, Gary, Christopher, Kathryn, Deanna, Carsen, Jessalyn and Rebecca, four great grandchildren, Jennifer, Amy, MacKenzie, Cody, and one brother, Ralph Archer of Powell River. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Box 3451, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4S2, the Canadian Diabetes Association, Box 1412, Kamloops, BC, V2C 6L7 or the BC Wildlife Federation. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, November 09, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Fischer’s Funeral Services, with Pastor Norm Russell officiating.
