We regret to announce the passing of Leslie Milton Mellish, aged 83 years, on Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at Oakside Manor, Enderby. Les was born and raised in Armstrong. He served with the 9th Armored Regiment (B.C.D.’s) during the Second World War in Canada and England and also saw action in Italy and North West Europe. After the war he worked for many years at Armstrong Cheese Plant followed by years as Steward at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 98, Enderby. He was a Life Member of Branch 98. Les was predeceased by his parents as well as sisters Phyllis and Elaine and brother Robert. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Les will be sadly missed by his good friend Mike Hennessy of Revelstoke, as well as many other friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Enderby Legion Hall on Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements in the care of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, Armstrong, 546-7237. “At the going down of the sun and in the morn, we will remember them.”
