We regret to announce the sudden and unexpected death at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on January 12, 2003, of Linda Katherine Porcaro, at the age of 53 years. Linda was a resident of Vernon for over 20 years, and will be remembered by many friends as the Industrial First Aid Attendant at the Consumers Glass Plant in Lavington. She loved crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, and computers, but her first love was people; and she was totally dedicated to her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Jim; children: Larry (Rachel) LaBas of Santa Clara, Cal., James and Richard Porcaro, Mechelle (Stephen) Hennig, and Mary Porcaro, all of Vernon; and seven grandchildren. Linda is also survived by several siblings and numerous extended family members. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 17, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, with the Reverend Father Martin Peyton officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Linda to Parkinson Disease Association, #600-890 W. Pender St., Vancouver, V6C 1K4. Arrangements are in the care of Vernon Funeral Home. 542-0155.
