Just shy of her 65th birthday, Linda lost her second struggle against breast cancer on October 15, 2013. After happily growing up in Lavington on the family farm of her parents, Steve and Mollie Shinduke, with her siblings, Richard, Danny, Bob and Sandra, Linda spent most of her adult life in Vernon. Always cheerful, Linda was genuinely kind and interested in everyone, always taking the time to linger and really finish a conversation. Her creative writings, drawings and one of a kind gifts will be cherished. A lover of all animals, Linda had a special fondness for cats. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Vernon Animal Shelter or SPCA. For their considerate care of Linda, the family thanks Dr. LePage, Dr. Stevenson, Dr. Humphreys and Dr. Cunningham, and for going above and beyond, our heartfelt gratitude to Larry Thomson. We also thank Patti from We Care and all the home care nurses with whom Linda enjoyed visits and chats. There will be no formal service, but those wishing to share a story or pay their respects, are invited to join the family for refreshments (casual attire) on Saturday, December 28 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the Tea Room, Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 PV Road.
