LLOYD PHILIP BROSTER

LLOYD PHILIP BROSTER

January 6, 1937 – April 19, 2016

On April 19th, 2016, Lloyd passed away suddenly as the result of a fall at his home in Desert Cove, Vernon, BC. Lloyd was doing what he did best….being stubborn and not asking for help as instructed countless times by his wife and children!

Lloyd was born in Fernie, BC, on January 6th, 1937. He was raised in the Kootenays where he met and married his wife, Pat. In his younger days, Lloyd was a rodeo saddlebronc rider and spent more time in the hospital than in the saddle. Lloyd’s joys in life were horses, being a trucker, his children and grandchildren, and his woodworking shop.

Lloyd is predeceased by his beloved dog Cole; his parents Philip and Florence; and 5 sisters (Catherine, Audrey, Dorothy, May, and Doreen).

Lloyd is survived by wife Pat, children Duane (Shelley), Ken (April), Holly (Steve), Chris, Mark (Marlayne); 10 grandchildren (Dustin, Shelby, Cody, Brady, Sarah, Kalyn, Jessie, Raylene, Raven, Gregg); 9 great-grandchildren (Lane, Harmony, Lucas, Azreal, Weston, Walker, Luke, Mia, Bodin, and one baby due in August); 4 brothers (Arnold, Roy, Norman, George), 3 sisters (Margaret, Inez, Beverly (Chubby)); extended family Leona, Ken, Gwen, Bonnie, Anita, Kelly, and numerous nieces and nephews; and favourite cousins George and Karen Wilkinson.

Lloyd’s retirement years were spent working in his shop at home, although he often spent more time chatting with neighbours than doing any work! The highlight of his day was solving the world’s problems with his friends and acquaintances in Tim Horton’s. Lloyd’s cheerful face, stories, and jokes will be dearly missed by all.

Celebration of Life will be held at April 24th, 1:00 p.m, at the Desert Cove Recreation Centre, Vernon, BC. Contributions in Lloyd’s memory can be made to the Vernon Hospice House or BC Children’s Hospital.
