Lloyd Rae Salkeld passed away peacefully on March 27, 2014 at the age of 89 with his daughter by his side at Kipnes Centre for Veterans.
Lloyd will be sorely missed and was deeply loved by his daughter Brenda (Alex) Hawley of Spruce Grove, AB, two granddaughters, Alana Hawley (fiancé Jonathan Purvis) and Julia Chronopoulos (Jim) of Edmonton, AB, great-granddaughters Alitheia and Rhea Chronopoulos, one remaining sister Lorraine Vinterlik of Raymore, SK, and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. Lloyd was predeceased by his wife Dora in 2006 and his son Robert Lloyd in 1988.
Lloyd is remembered as a kind and generous friend, father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose belief in education and whose supportive spirit reached across five generations. ‘Travelling with Grandpa’ was a memorable highlight for his family.
Inurnment will be held in Deep River, ON, date to be announced.
