BROWN
With sadness and regret we announce the passing of Mrs. Lois Margaret Brown at Polson North, Vernon, on Sunday, March 30, 2003. Aged 85 years. Lois was born in Seattle, Washington, on March 1, 1918 and moved to Canada with her family in 1925. She and husband Tom, farmed in Manitoba for many years. They moved to Enderby in 1970. Lois is survived by two daughters Gail Hamel and Loreen Vancoughnett, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews who considered her with love, respect and compassion. Predeceased by beloved husband Tom in 1977, two daughters Patricia in 1948 and Joanne in 1993, brother Bill in 1992, sister Isabell in 1968 and grandson Corey Vancoughnett in 1988, step great-grandson David Hill in 2002. Lois was a warm generous person who loved family and friends, a good joke and had a positive attitude. She enjoyed many trips to Reno, playing bingo and knitting (made hundreds of slippers). In her younger years Lois rode horses, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Girl Guides for a number of years. Hard working always, Lois’s attitude was to get the very best out of each day no matter what life threw at you. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2003, at St. George’s Anglican Church, Enderby. Reverend Cory Rundell officiating. Interment in family plot of Cliffside Cemetery, Enderby.
