Loni Labrum (formerly LePage, nee Goglin), a breast cancer survivor since 1988, succumbed to the disease in Vernon, BC on March 22, 2008.
Loni was born in Seattle, Washington, to Bert & Irene Goglin, May 15, 1951. Her family lived in Prince George, BC until 1956, then moved to Savona, BC where they owned the Savona Hotel. In 1960 the family moved to White Rock, followed by a move in 1963 to Spences Bridge BC where they owned the Spences Bridge Hotel. Loni graduated from Kumsheen High School, in Lytton, BC, returning to Prince George in 1969. She worked for Woodwards (1972-79), Ministry of Highways (1979-87), Prince George Regional Hospital (1988-1990) and in 1990, she moved to Salmon Arm working for School District #83. She returned to Prince George in 1993 and worked for the Ministry of Finance and Human Resources. Her last career move was to Vernon, BC in 1996 to work for Tolko Industries Ltd.
Loni is lovingly remembered by her mother Irene, Dave, the love of her life, son Jeff LePage (Terra), grandchildren Timothy, Elizabeth, Naiomi and Sophia; Labrum step-children, Aaron (Sandi), Christa Rachwalski (Ryan) and step-grandchildren, Colby, Ashley, Evan, Grace and Rachel.; LePage step-children Julie, Lynda and Joe and their families.
Loni was very passionate for life and lived it to the fullest. She will be remembered for her sense of humour and passion for fashion and flair. She made many friends throughout her journey and treasured them all; her dearest friend Dorothy Turick, and “The YaYas” – Deanna Sherk, Darlene Wolney, Ellie Young and Judy Elliott.
Loni’s family would like to thank the many friends and neighbours who made her past few months so comforting, as well as Dr. Elizabeth Johnson, Dr. Larrie Mandreck and the exceptional staff at the Vernon Unit Cancer Clinic.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday March 29, 2008, 11:00 am at the Zion
United Church, 2315 Pleasant Valley Blvd, Armstrong, BC.
An open house to celebrate Loni’s life will follow 1:00 – 3:00 pm at
Dave & Loni’s home, #8 Meadow Creek Lane (off of Patterson Ave), Armstrong, BC.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Vernon Unit, Canadian Cancer
