It is with great sadness that her family announces the passing of Lorna Marie Hanley in her 66th year, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lorna will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her and leaves to mourn: daughters; Debbie (Bob) Tams of Salmon Arm, Sandi (Fergus) Bryan of Vernon, sons; Doug (Margo) Hanley of Prince George, Ken (Rhonda) Hanley of Vernon. Lorna adored her grandchildren Jamie, Shawna, Jennifer, Michael, Jacob, Reid & Aaron and will be greatly missed by her special friend and companion, Bill Brulotte. Lorna was the youngest of 14 children and is survived by sisters: Florence Rae, (Hemet, Calif.), Phyllis Sadler (Vancouver, B.C.), Wilma MacDonald (Moose Jaw, Sask.), Helen Gray (Victoria, B.C.) and brother, Don Sjoberg (Moose Jaw, Sask.) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Lorna was a resident of Vernon since 1978, and was a caregiver at Twin Cedars for the past 12 years. Lorna will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family and special gift of making us smile, with her story-telling and sense of humour. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, Nov. 7/02 at 2:00 pm in The Eagles Hall, 5101 - 25th Ave., Vernon, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Box 191, Vernon, B.C. V1T 6M2. Arrangements are in the care of Vernon Funeral Home, 542-0155.
