We regret to announce the death on November 6, 2004, at Oakside Manor in Enderby, of Lorne Fredrick Mallett, at the age of 83 years. Lorne was a long time resident of Salmon Arm, where he was well known for many years as the Produce Manager at Askews. He was a veteran, serving during the Second World War in the RCAF. He was an ardent gardener until his health declined in recent years. Lorne will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Rod (Judy) of Vernon; daughter Linda (Arve) Lyngen of Campbell River; grandsons Rick Lyngen of Port Hardy and Jason Mallett of Vancouver; and one great-grandson, Harley Lyngen of Powell River. He is also survived by sister Doreen (Tom) Matweow of Calgary and numerous extended family members. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 13, at 2:00 P.M. in the Salvation Army Community Church in Salmon Arm with Captain Rick Honcharski officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army in Salmon Arm in memory of Lorne would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in the care of Vernon Funeral Home (542-0155).
