Lorrilee Jean Jordan

It is with deep sadness that the family of Lorrilee Jean Jordan (nee Ruschkowski) announces her passing on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Aged 66 years, she is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Dave of Armstrong; their children Sheldon (Anne-Brigitte Quirion) of Gatineau, QC; Trenna (Gerald Luttmerding) of Armstrong, BC; Shanda (Sheldon Gaetz) of Vancouver, BC; and Jacinta (Dave King) of Armstrong, BC; as well as her grandchildren Michael, Caden, Blake, Niklas, David, Kelly, Kian, Noah, and Brayden. Lorrilee is survived by her sisters Virginia (Maggie) Fuergutz and Marianne Girodat, brother Leonard, mother-in-law Gertrude, many brothers and sisters-in-law as well as nieces, nephews and friends to whom she was very special. Lorrilee was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Cecelia Ruschkowski, sister Deanna Mack and father-in-law John Jordan. Lorrilee was a woman of strong faith, and a devoted member of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada having served as local president, Kamloops diocesan president as well as being involved at the BC and Yukon level. She was actively involved in the community and supported many local charities and organizations over her years in Armstrong. Lorrilee was an accomplished pianist, music was her lifelong passion. Above all, she loved to spend time with family and friends, most especially her grandchildren. Prayer services will be held Sunday, February 5 at 7:00 pm with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Monday, February 6, 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Armstrong, BC with the Reverend Father Anthony Ackerman celebrating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the BC Cancer Foundation (399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 5L3, www.bccancerfoundation.com) or the North Okanagan Hospice Society (3506 27 Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4, www.nohs.ca).
