March 20, 1932 - April 1, 2019
Jackie passed away peacefully on March 28, 2019 in Vernon BC. Lou passed away peacefully on April 01, 2019 in Vernon BC.

Lou always said he had no plans to be on this earth without Jackie and he would be pleased it worked out this way. They had 62 plus married years together. Lou and Jackie married on December 29, 1956. Jackie always teased Lou about him proposing the first night they met.

Lou and Jackie are survived by their son Mark (Beverly) and their grandchildren Hanna, Connor and Micheal and their daughter Heather (James) Also survived by Lou's brother Fred (sister in law Rose) or Fritzy as Jackie called him. They are also survived my many much loved nieces and nephews.

Jackie was born and raised in Vernon and Lou was a Pincher Creek, Alberta boy. Lou spoke of being homesick to see the wheat fields blowing in the wind. Jackie worked at the Bank of Montreal taking care of wills and documents..a very fast typer! Jackie stayed at the bank until family came along.

Lou worked at RE Postills from when he first moved to Vernon as a young man until his retirement. Many terrifying stories of him working heavy machinery assisting in fire fighting.

They lived up Silver Star from the late 60s until 1985 when they found the house on 29 Crescent and lived there until summer 2018. Many evenings and late nights spent playing cards around the family dining table.

Jackie enjoyed gardening and baking. Most anyone who visited went home with a loaf of homemade bread under their arm. Jackie was a good cook and had favourite recipes that many family and friends enjoyed over the years. Hanna has the pastry gene! Lou always said why eat out and eat inferior food.

Lou enjoyed sitting in the back yard and enjoying peace and quiet. They were both avid walkers and were well known in their neighbourhood for taking a stroll. Sometime two or three a day. After retirement many trips were made down to the coast to spend time with grandchildren. Many trips up to Kamloops over the years as well and everyone was warned about the infamous Falkland cop.

The last few years were not easy as Jackie's Alzheimers progressed, but Lou was determined that they be in their home. Together. Which they were. There will be a memorial service this summer. Their ashes will be spread at a spot overlooking a beautiful view at Keith and Shelley's ranch. Thanks to Polson extended care who took such wonderful care of Lou and Jackie these last few months. Thanks to all who have extended condolences to the family.
