Louise is survived by her partner of 35 years, Doug Stretch, daughters, Robin Allen, Rhonda Hagarty, mother Grace Matheson, brother Ken Hallam, her step daughter Alison Nicholls, and her son in laws Jonathan, Tim, and James. She was a loving grandmother to Jackson, Jamie, Alex, Jack, Ethan and Jennifer. Louise was predeceased by her grandmother Annie McPhee, who raised her since she was 5 years old. Louise was born September 10th, 1947 in Calgary, AB and lived there until 1995, when Louise and Doug moved to Summerland, BC. Louise and Doug in 2005 relocated to Vernon to be closer to family and enjoyed winters in Salome, Arizona where she sang harmony with Doug at many blue grass jams. Louise was an artist, gardener, and avid birder. She loved baking muffins, bread, and her favorite pumpkin pie. Louise lived with physical challenges from rheumatoid arthritis, but she was never one to complain. Her zest for life took her to many places around the world and in turn, made her many friends. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. We will be celebrating Louise’s life on Sunday, October 23rd 11:00am at the Nicholls’ house in Vernon.
