Louise Ostafew (nee Roberts) passed away peacefully at Hospice House on October 16, 2003 after a short battle with cancer. Louise was born in London, England on June 6, 1921. She married Paul Ostafew and came to Vernon in 1946 as a war bride. For many years, Louise worked with Paul in the family business, Ostafew Gulf Service. As an active senior, Louise generously gave her time to organizing social events and helping other tenants of Morris Manor. Louise was predeceased by her husband Paul in 1981. She is survived by sisters Rose Cashmere and Edna Yates both of England. Louise is lovingly remembered but sadly missed by her son Brian (Nita) Ostafew of Vernon; daughter Christine (Terry) Hruschak of Vernon; daughter Brenda (Ron) Jackson of Westbank. Also loved and missed greatly by seven grandchildren: Jennifer and Allison Ostafew; Carolyn (Kevin) O’Connor and Valerie Hruschak; Shane, Ryan and Scott Jackson. The family of Louise Ostafew invite you to celebrate her life on Friday, October 24, 2003 at 1 pm in the Chapel of the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Houton officiating.
