Louisianna (Lou) McClure passed away in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Friday, December 7th, 2007 at the age of 85 years, after a brief illness. Lou was born on November 9th, 1922 in Winterburn, Alberta to Elizabeth & Ben Vandell, the middle child of ten children.

Lou will be sadly missed by her daughter, Phyllis (Perry) Linton; her grandchildren, Shane Linton, Curtis (Tammy) Linton and Lorrain (Dean) Bablitz; six great-grandchildren; her brother; sisters; extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew McClure; her son, Harvey; her parents; three brothers and two sisters.

Lou loved to cook and bake and spent many years cooking in road construction camps in Alberta and the Northwest Territories. She also had a restaurant and Bake Shop. Lou and Andrew moved to Vernon in 1980 from the Northwest Territories, after retiring. Lou was a most caring and loving woman, always giving of herself to the well being of others and was always happy. She enjoyed being with her many friends and her large circle of friends included people of all ages. She will never be forgotten.

Cremation preceded the Funeral Service which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 13th, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Father Martin Peyton officiating. A Celebration Of Lou’s Life will follow at the Army, Navy & Airforce Veteran’s Hall, 2500-46th Avenue, beginning at 12:00 Noon.
